Lara Wickes is fueled by the momentum of passion…
Canadian born, Lara Wickes moved from Toronto to Los Angeles in 1999 having fallen in love with the city while shooting her first feature.
She has been immersed in television and film production for over 25 years and has helmed the completion of several web series, short films, and features – as well as hundreds of television promos.
In 2010, she found her niche in television marketing, heading up the production department of BPG, an LA based agency. Lara was promoted to President/EP of Rebel Films and grew the company exponentially for over six years.
In June 2017 she took a leap of faith and opened her own production company – Canyon Road Films – where she has been thriving since Day 1. Her philosophy is to provide a solution-based operation with the highest respect for everyone involved in the process. And she does just that with her astute attention to detail and heartfelt client service.
Over her career, Lara has garnered dozens of PromaxBDA awards. She has also devoted much of her spare time to passion film projects including “Cups & Robbers” – written and directed by Jim Simone. The short film has worldwide distribution and has amassed several film festival laurels including Sedona International Film Festival, Ojai Short Films Festival and San Luis Obispo International Film Festival.
Additionally, Lara is a wilderness survivalist and a graduate of Tom Brown Jr.’s Tracker School. Due to her special love for nature and wolves, Canyon Road Films is an official sponsor of the Wolf Connection Youth Program, an innovative project that combines wolf rescue with empowerment and education programs for at-risk youths.
She is a triathlete, Spartan racer, and part time golfer. She currently resides in Los Angeles with her wife, 2 step-children, 3 rescue dogs, 2 dragons, 2 fish, and 1 frog.
