Wolfie

Lara Wickes lives at the speed of passion. It defines who she is and how she runs Canyon Road Films.

She grew up in The Theatre. Her mother, a renowned opera singer, instilled a love of ‘moving’ an audience. Her father, a successful entrepreneur, impressed the importance of hard work and integrity. Given her strong foundation, Lara produced her first play by age 10 and never looked back.

Lara made the move from the theatre to film seamlessly. She started by producing digital shorts and webisodes, then moved on to independent features. She found her niche in television promos first as EP of Rebel Films before founding Canyon Road Films.

Within the last five years, Lara has been credited with over a dozen PromaxBDA awards. Her secret: she’s a solutionist. She dives into challenges with her customary attention to minute detail and heartfelt client service delivered with a truckload of passion.

Lara has devoted much of her spare time to passion film projects and fundraisers such as the annual theatrical production “Snapshots”, which ran for 10 consecutive years and raised thousands of dollars for the Susan G. Komen Foundation and Breast Cancer Research.

Furthermore, Lara is a wilderness survivalist and a graduate of Tom Brown Jr.’s Tracker School. Due to her special love for nature and wolves, Canyon Road Films is an official sponsor of the Wolf Connection Youth Program, an innovative project that combines wolf rescue with empowerment and education programs for at-risk youth.

Oh, and she makes a mean pot of Chicken Adobo.
